Cet exemplaire est visiblement frappé sur un flan de 5 centimes Marianne, le métal et le poids de notre exemplaire ne laissent aucun doute à ce sujet. Apparemment, un flan de 5 centimes s’est glissé par erreur au milieu des flans de 2 francs Semeuse centimes et a été monnayé. Ce qui est le plus étonnant est qu’une telle erreur ait pu échapper aux contrôles et soit partie dans la circulation. Le millésime et les différents sont absents. C’est le premier cas de fauté que nous rencontrons sur les 2 francs Semeuse nickel.
This example is clearly struck on a 5-cent Marianne flan, the metal and weight of our example leave no doubt about this. Apparently, a 5-cent flan slipped by mistake into the middle of the 2-franc Semeuse centime flans and was minted. What is most surprising is that such an error could have escaped the controls and entered circulation. The year and the differences are missing. This is the first case of error that we have encountered on the 2-franc Semeuse nickel
