Tunisia will become, during the Second World War, the theater of the first joint operations between the American army and its British ally in 1942-1943. The Tunisian campaign opens the road to Sicily and Italy to the Allies. The conflict barely interrupted the action of the nationalists: from the end of the 1940s, the movement grew.
