Ce type de denier d’argent avec la légende runique est inspiré des monnaies en or pâle, ou thrymsas, de la série Pa. Le droit est réinterprété (comme sur les deniers TIC) et le revers imité en copiant malhabilement les runes, en pseudo légende verticale à droite et à gauche de l'étendard (ou enseigne perlée).
Cette légende runique peut-être retranscrite en ÆPA.
Pour le revers, certains lisent TOTII (?) à l’intérieur de l'étendard.
Au droit, la légende commence par un petit °, comme sur le n° 121 d’Osford.

(7th - 8th centuries)
If the minting of these coins is to be located at the beginning of the 8th century, in Great Britain, it is not exceptional to find them in Gaul. They are often confused with Merovingian silver coins (cf. MONNAIES XIX, n° 503, sceattas c. 680-710, classified in Merovingian denier of Laon). During the 8th century, the style of these pieces is more and more degenerated, they are often in ridge or filled. These coins disappeared from circulation in the second half of the 8th century.
