Denier frappé sur un flan large, avec un droit issu d’un coin usé ou bouché, mais d’un coin de revers neuf, avec une frappe vigoureuse. Patine grise, un peu hétérogène, comme cristallisée et légèrement granuleuse

Cette monnaie est beaucoup plus stylisée que la monnaie n° 1658, dont elle dérive. Cet exemplaire est exactement du même type que les B350 et J110 publiés par T. Abramson, ou encore que le n° 695 de Cambridge.
Bien que sur flan large, ce type est anépigraphe, avec un grènetis des deux côtés, mais aucune légende autour. Associée au style, cette caractéristique permet de distinguer les deux groupes de monnaies, pourtant aux mêmes types de droit et de revers !.
This coin is much more stylized than coin No. 1658, from which it is derived. This example is exactly the same type as the B350 and J110 published by T. Abramson, or even the Cambridge No. 695. Although on a wide flan, this type is anepigraphic, with beading on both sides, but no legend around it. Combined with the style, this characteristic allows us to distinguish the two groups of coins, despite having the same obverse and reverse types!

ENGLAND - ANGLO-SAXONS
(7th - 8th centuries)
If the minting of these coins is to be located at the beginning of the 8th century, in Great Britain, it is not exceptional to find them in Gaul. They are often confused with Merovingian silver coins (cf. MONNAIES XIX, n° 503, sceattas c. 680-710, classified in Merovingian denier of Laon). During the 8th century, the style of these pieces is more and more degenerated, they are often in ridge or filled. These coins disappeared from circulation in the second half of the 8th century.
