Louis XIII was born on September 27, 1601. He became king on the assassination of Henri IV on May 14, 1610 and was crowned on October 17, 1610. During his minority, the regency was entrusted to Marie de Médicis. Sully resigned in 1611, Concini became Queen's Counsel and was appointed Marshal of France in 1613. The revolt of the Great forces the Queen to convene the States General in 1614, the last time before the Revolution. In 1621, de Luynes, a friend of Louis XIII, was appointed constable of France. Richelieu is named cardinal in 1622 and enters the Council, he is prime minister in 1624.
