Eudes (860-898) is the first Robertian king, son of Robert the Strong (+866), marquis of Neustria. Eudes, Count of Paris from 882, heroically defended the city against the Normans during the siege around 885-887. Elected and crowned in 888, he was crowned at Compiègne. From this coronation, a fight that will last ten years opposes him to Charles III the Simple, the posthumous son of Louis II the Stammerer. Charles was crowned in 893.
