Poids léger. La tiare est ornée d’un croissant pointé entre deux étoiles, symbole lunisolaire du culte mazdéen. Très beau diadème pariculier au revers. Poids et diamètre nous laisse imaginer que cette dénomination est bien une diobole.

PERSIS - KINGDOM OF PERSIS - UNKNOWN KING
(1st century BC - 1st century AD)
La Perside seems to have played an important role in the history of the Achaemenid Empire. Persepolis was one of the capitals of the Empire. La Perside kept a certain autonomy under the Macedonian domination which was perpetuated under the Parthians. The founder of the dynasty seems to have been Bagadate at the end of the 3rd century BC. The descendants of the monarchs of Perside seized the Parthian throne in order to found a new dynasty, the Sassanids. The unknown king (Y for de Morgan) would find his place between Napat, son of Namupat, grandson of Artaxerxes II (c. 57 BC) and Autophradate III.
