历史细节

KINGDOM OF LOMBARDY-VENETIA - FRANCIS I

(1815-1835)

The Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia is made up of Lombardy, Veneto and Friuli and is located between the Duchy of Milan and the Republic of Venice. Created in 1815 at the Congress of Vienna, it was assigned to Austria. An archduke was responsible for representing the emperor with the title of viceroy. In 1859 Lombardy was ceded to Piedmont and the rest of the kingdom passed to the Kingdom of Italy in 1866. Francis of Austria (1768-1835) was the eldest son of Leopold II and Marie Louise de Bourbon. He is the last emperor of the Holy Roman Empire (1792-1806) under the name of François II and the first emperor of Austria under the name of François Ier (1806-1835). He was one of Napoleon's most implacable enemies despite having given him his daughter Marie-Louise in marriage in 1810. With Metternich, he was one of the arbiters of Europe at the Congress of Vienna in 1815.
