Denis Poulot, né le 3 mars 1832 à Gray et mort le 28 mars 1905 à Paris, est un entrepreneur, philanthrope et essayiste français.
Entré à l'École des Arts et Métiers de Châlons en 1847, il devient contremaître en 1852 dans les ateliers d'Ernest Goüin et Cie, puis entrepreneur. Le Square Denis-Poulot à Paris a été nommé d'après lui. Son livre, Le sublime, traitant des ouvriers très qualifiés généralement indépendants, inspirera à Émile Zola L'Assommoir. Il fut maire du 11e arrondissement de Paris de 1879 à 1882.
Denis Poulot, born March 3, 1832 in Gray and died March 28, 1905 in Paris, was a French entrepreneur, philanthropist, and essayist. He entered the École des Arts et Métiers de Châlons in 1847 and became a foreman in 1852 in the workshops of Ernest Goüin et Cie, then an entrepreneur. The Square Denis-Poulot in Paris was named after him. His book, The Sublime, about highly skilled, generally independent workers, inspired Émile Zola's L'Assommoir. He was mayor of the 11th arrondissement of Paris from 1879 to 1882.
