Épreuve complète recto/verso, datée du 31 février, sur papier de présentation non filigrané portant au centre le dessin à la plume du projet de filigrane, numéroté 0.00 / 000. Cette épreuve, mis à part le plaisir de voir dans un état parfait un type rarissime en n'importe quel état et complètement introuvable au dessus d'un petit TB, apporte une information nouvelle sur les méthodes utilisées au tournant du siècle. Notre épreuve n'est pas filigranée - pourtant le papier filigrané qui allait servir existait déjà, utilisé par exemple pour le 20 Dollars / 20 Piastres "date au tampon". Il faut donc en déduire que les concepteurs ont préféré présenter à la Banque une épreuve imprimée sur un papier spécial donnant sa plus grande finesse à l'impression plutôt que le papier filigrané prévu, probablement moins adapté.
Le dessin du filigrane a été réalisé avec un soin extrême par une main experte, à tel point qu'une vérification à la loupe a été nécessaire pour confirmer le dessin manuel à la plume. La correspondance entre l'encre utilisée pour le dessin et l'encre d'imprimerie de l'épreuve est absolument parfaite, à tel point point que l'on peut avoir la certitude que le dessin du filigrane a été rajouté à l'imprimerie et très probablement par Duval ou celui des intervenants qui se trouvait présent lors du tirage des épreuves.
Nous n'avons jamais vu un tel document pour une autre valeur ou une autre date. Cette épreuve est très certainement unique.

This test, apart from the pleasure of seeing in perfect condition a type that is extremely rare in any condition and completely unobtainable above a small TB, provides new information on the methods used at the turn of the century.. The watermark design was carried out with extreme care by an expert hand, so much so that a magnifying glass check was necessary to confirm the hand-drawn pen drawing. The correspondence between the ink used for the drawing and the printing ink of the proof is absolutely perfect, so much so that we can be certain that the watermark drawing was added at the printer's and very probably by Duval or one of the people present when the proofs were printed..
We have never seen such a document for any other value or date.. This test is most certainly unique
