评论
This type 2c of the D series is divided into two, depending on whether the weight is heavy or light. DM Metcalf points out that there are copies that are difficult to recognize and that some official coins have a very “poor” style. This denarius, probably struck in Domburg, is listed as “Continental runic type”

ENGLAND - ANGLO-SAXONS
(7th - 8th centuries)
If the minting of these coins is to be located at the beginning of the 8th century, in Great Britain, it is not exceptional to find them in Gaul. They are often confused with Merovingian silver coins (cf. MONNAIES XIX, n° 503, sceattas c. 680-710, classified in Merovingian denier of Laon). During the 8th century, the style of these pieces is more and more degenerated, they are often in ridge or filled. These coins disappeared from circulation in the second half of the 8th century.
