Les monnaies de la série F sont réputées copier les deniers mérovingiens d’Auxerre. La légende des prototypes est +AVDO MONET ou + ADEONE MONET, et + AVTIZIODERO [CI]. Ces légende ont été copiées, mais certainement par des graveurs illettrés. Ces deniers ont pu être confondus à l’époque avec les monnaies d’Auxerre.
Les quelques exemplaires de Cambridge ont été analysés ; il contiennent en moyenne 90,5% d’argent. Les deux d’Oxford ont respectivement 91 et 95% d’argent.
D. M. Metcalf précise qu’aucune étude de coin n’a été réalisée pour cette série F.

ENGLAND - ANGLO-SAXONS
(7th - 8th centuries)
If the minting of these coins is to be located at the beginning of the 8th century, in Great Britain, it is not exceptional to find them in Gaul. They are often confused with Merovingian silver coins (cf. MONNAIES XIX, n° 503, sceattas c. 680-710, classified in Merovingian denier of Laon). During the 8th century, the style of these pieces is more and more degenerated, they are often in ridge or filled. These coins disappeared from circulation in the second half of the 8th century.
