Frappe vigoureuse sur un flan un peu court et irrégulier. Droit complet, mai revers légèrement décentré. Agréable patine sombre et irisée, avec de petites zones très argentées

Si ce revers est assez classique, le style de la tête du droit est plus inhabituel. La tête est un peu plus détaillée que pour d’autres variétés ; avec le nez et l'œil marqués.

(7th - 8th centuries)
If the minting of these coins is to be located at the beginning of the 8th century, in Great Britain, it is not exceptional to find them in Gaul. They are often confused with Merovingian silver coins (cf. MONNAIES XIX, n° 503, sceattas c. 680-710, classified in Merovingian denier of Laon). During the 8th century, the style of these pieces is more and more degenerated, they are often in ridge or filled. These coins disappeared from circulation in the second half of the 8th century.
