Nous n’avons pas pu attribuer à un atelier précis le prototype ayant servit de modèle pour ce faux triens. La croix ancrée du revers se retrouve en effet sur de nombreuses monnaies mérovingiennes notamment la région parisienne.
We were unable to attribute the prototype that served as a model for this fake triens to a specific workshop. The anchored cross on the reverse is indeed found on many Merovingian coins, particularly those from the Paris region.

Many Merovingian coins, badly minted, with very poor or inexplicit epigraphy, cannot be attributed to a particular mint. Too rare coins unfortunately have the same problem. The attributions being based on often old works, a coin unknown at the time will often have difficulty in being attributed, unless it is possible to read the mint or find the name of the mint and compare with its production in the workshops where he minted coins....
