Ce triens a les caractéristiques typiques du monnayage d’or mérovingien ; tête au droit et croix au revers. Aucun élément particulier ne semble permettre de proposer une attribution précise à un atelier.
L'épigraphie est très pauvre au droit, avec les lettres NO derrière la nuque et peut-être un A devant le front ? Au revers, seule une S semble être visible entre 4 et 5 heures. La croix n’est ornée d’aucune lettre en cantonnement comme c’est pourtant souvent le cas...
L'œil en amande, de face, pourrait permettre d’affiner le style, mais de trop nombreux triens d'ateliers géographiquement variés présentent cette caractéristique !.
This triens has the typical characteristics of Merovingian gold coinage: head on the obverse and cross on the reverse. No particular element seems to allow a precise attribution to a workshop to be proposed. The epigraphy is very poor on the obverse, with the letters NO behind the neck and perhaps an A in front of the forehead? On the reverse, only an S seems to be visible between 4 and 5 o'clock. The cross is not decorated with any letters in quartering, as is often the case... The almond-shaped eye, from the front, could allow the style to be refined, but too many triens from geographically diverse workshops have this characteristic!
