Albert de Jaeger, né à Roubaix le 28 octobre 1908 et mort à Paris, 14e arrondissement, le 19 mai 1992, est un sculpteur, graveur, médailleur, fondeur et orfèvre français.
Élève de Paul Niclausse (1879 - 1958), Henri Bouchard (1875 - 1960), Charles Despiau (1874 - 1946) et Henri Dropsy (1885 - 1969). Conseiller artistique du général Pierre Kœnig commandant en chef en Allemagne (1944-1949), Secrétaire général du Conseil supérieur d'architecture et d'urbanisme en zone française d'occupation en Allemagne (1945-1950), Directeur des Ateliers d'art français (1944-1949).
L’ordre national du Mérite est un ordre français qui a été institué le 3 décembre 1963 par le général de Gaulle. Il récompense les mérites distingués, militaires (d'active et de réserve) ou civils, rendus à la nation française. Il remplace d'anciens ordres ministériels et coloniaux.
Sa création permet de revaloriser l'ordre national de la Légion d'honneur créé par Napoléon Bonaparte le 20 mai 1802 pour récompenser les mérites éminents..

Student of Paul Niclausse (1879 - 1958), Henri Bouchard (1875 - 1960), Charles Despiau (1874 - 1946) and Henri Dropsy (1885 - 1969). Artistic advisor to General Pierre Kœnig, commander-in-chief in Germany (1944-1949), Secretary General of the Higher Council of Architecture and Urban Planning in the French zone of occupation in Germany (1945-1950), Director of the French Art Workshops (1944-1949). The National Order of Merit is a French order established on December 3, 1963, by General de Gaulle. It rewards distinguished military (active and reserve) or civilian service to the French nation. It replaces former ministerial and colonial orders. Its creation allows for the upgrading of the National Order of the Legion of Honor, created by Napoleon Bonaparte on May 20, 1802, to reward distinguished service.

The Fifth Republic, whose constitution was approved by referendum on September 28, 1958 by more than 79% of French people, only officially began with the installation of General de Gaulle as president on January 8, 1959.
