Cet incendie est l’un des événements marquants du troisième jour de la Révolution de 1848, il a fait l’objet d’un tableau d’Eugène Hagnauer. Il ne semble pas que les pompiers aient pu intervenir. Si l’on en juge par le tableau,la disposition des lieux en 1848 était très différente de celle que nous trouvons aujourd’hui, voir la fiche http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Place_du_Palais-Royal .
This fire is one of the significant events of the third day of the 1848 Revolution, and was the subject of a painting by Eugène Hagnauer. It does not appear that the firefighters were able to intervene.
