ELUSATES (Area of the Gers)

One of the most important peoples of Aquitaine, the Élusates, had Elusa as their capital, today Éauze (Gers), which yielded one of the most important Roman monetary treasures found in Gaul. This people is quoted in the Commentaries of the Gallic Wars (III, 27).
