Suite aux problème de frappe du Cent “Flying Eagle”, un nouveau type est dessiné par le graveur en chef, James Barton Longacre,le cent tête d’indien (Indian Head). En fait, il s’agit de la Liberté coiffé d’une parure indienne. Ce type est frappé de 1859 à 1909.
Following the problems with the Flying Eagle cent, a new type was designed by Chief Engraver James Barton Longacre: the Indian Head cent. It actually depicted Liberty wearing Indian headdress. This type was minted from 1859 to 1909.
