En 1778, dans le cadre de la campagne de l’Illinois, George Rogers Clark capture le Fort Sackville tenu par les troupes britanniques ce qui contribue à assurer la mainmise sur le territoire du Nord-Ouest. Un monument commémoratif est inauguré en 1936 et est géré depuis 1976 par le National Park Service.

Launched in early 2010, 'America the Beautiful' is a program of 56 commemorative quarter dollar coins depicting the national parks and other national sites of the United States of America. The George Rogers Clark National Historical Park is located in Vincennes, Indiana. In 1778, as part of the Illinois Campaign, George Rogers Clark captured Fort Sackville from British troops, helping to secure control of the Northwest Territory. A commemorative monument was dedicated in 1936 and has been managed by the National Park Service since 1976. This lot contains one coin from each of the three mints (3 mints in total): Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco.
