La Liberty Bell (ou « cloche de la liberté ») est un symbole de l'indépendance américaine situé à Philadelphie en Pennsylvanie. Anciennement située dans le clocher de la Pennsylvania State House (aujourd'hui l'Independence Hall), la cloche fut commandée à la société londonienne Lester et Pack (aujourd'hui la Whitechapel Bell Foundry) en 1752. Elle porte l'inscription tirée du Lévitique 25:10, Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof (« vous proclamerez la liberté dans tout le pays pour tous ses habitants »). La cloche fut fêlée peu après sa première utilisation à son arrivée à Philadelphie et fut réparée sans succès par deux artisans locaux John Pass et John Stow dont les noms figurent sur la cloche. La Liberty Bell servait initialement à marquer l'ouverture des sessions parlementaires et à annoncer des rassemblements publics et des proclamations..
