评论

Cette rare monnaie manque au Nouvel Atlas ; les exemplaires n° 2427 et 2428 appartiennent à la même série mais ont le cheval à droite, et non à gauche comme sur cet exemplaire. Si ce type correspond au bga_277206, cet exemplaire a la particularité de présenter une petite rouelle devant le poitrail du cheval !
La plupart des exemplaires de cette série sont en très mauvais état et proviennent du fanum de Cracouville-le-Vieil-Évreux.

GALLIA - AULERCI EBUROVICES (Area of Évreux)

(2nd - 1st century BC)

The Aulerci were subdivided into three tribes: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani and Aulerci Éburovices. The territory of Aulerques Éburovices corresponds to the current department of Eure. They are quoted several times in Caesar's Commentaries. According to the latter, they would have massacred their Senate favorable to the Romans in 56 BC and would have joined the Unelles and the revolted Lexoviens. In 52 BC, they provided a contingent of three thousand men to the relief army. : Caesar (BG.(II, 34; III, 17, 29; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 7). Kruta: 72.
