正面的说明书 Tête bouclée à droite, l'arcade sourcilière bien marquée ; chevelure bouclée assez basse ; bouche faite de deux traits ; grènetis et semis de perles.

背面的说明书 Cheval galopant à droite, crinière bouletée, queue à dents de scie, jambes aux articulations bouletées.

Ce type particulier avec des perles dans la chevelure et l’oreille marquée est indiqué R4 par G Savès ; cela correspond à un seul exemplaire connu !
La légende COVRA est complète en bord de flan sous le cheval mais la légende NTILLOS est complètement hors flan.
Les monnaies à la croix épigraphe sont très recherchées. Pour la légende COVRANTILLOS, seulement 17 exemplaires ont été répertoriés par R. Boudet ; deux en collections privées, deux à la BN, un au musée de Toulouse, trois dans le trésor du Causé et six provenant de Vieille-Toulouse. Les trois restantes étant passés en ventes.

GALLIA - SOUTH WESTERN GAUL - RUTENI (Area of Rodez)
(1st century BC)
Neighbors of the Arvernes, the Cadurques and the Gabales, their territory corresponded to the former Rouergue (current department of Aveyron) to the north of the Tarn, the course of which constituted the border with the province of Narbonnaise. The Rutenes, allies of the Arvernes, had participated in the operations which led to the defeat of Bituit, king of the Arvernes in 121 BC and the creation of the province of Narbonnaise. On this occasion, the Rutenes had found themselves cut in two, following the natural border of the Tarn. Active in the coalition against the Romans in 52 BC, they provided a contingent of 12,000 men to the relief army. Sources: Caesar (BG. I, 45; VII, 5, 64, 75 and 90).
