正面的说明书 Minerve, casquée et tenant une palme, tient la main d’un homme vêtu d’une tenue militaire antique, tenant une corne d’abondance. Ils se tiennent tous les deux sur un pont à deux arches où l’on peut lire la signature du graveur : W. A l’arrière plan, on distingue une cité fortifiée.

GERMANY - PALATINATE - ZWEIBRÜCKEN
(1394-1801)
The Palatinate-Deux-Ponts (in German: Pfalz-Zweibrücken) is a former state of the Holy Roman Empire created by the merger of the territories controlled by the Palatine counts of the Rhine with part of the county of Deux-Ponts in 1394. This principality, whose limits have often varied, consisted of the town of Deux-Ponts and those of Annweiler, Berg-Zabern with their surroundings and Alsatian bailiwicks (remained bipontine but under French sovereignty after the policy of the Meetings) until in 1789 (bailliages of Bischwiller, Seltz, Cleebourg and Petite-Pierre); later it increased from the county of Sponheim and most of that of Veldenz (cf. wikipedia).
