Piéfort rarissime dont un exemplaire est dessiné dans l’ouvrage de Faustin Poey-d’Avant. Les piéforts d’oboles sont très rares et se rencontrent surtout pour des ateliers du Sud-Ouest de la France. D’après Benabiba et Diaz, ces monnaies anonymes se retrouvent dans des dépôts monétaires du XIVe siècle.

From 1224, the bishopric and the city seem to have shared the rights to the Mint, although the bishopric was the sole holder of the right to manufacture, which is recalled in several acts including that of 1267. In February 1249, the consuls obtained from Bishop Géraud IV de Barsac (1237-1250) the stabilization of the coin of Cahors. The coin of Cahors is cited in the penultimate position in the ordinance of 1315 where it took 20 caorcins to make 12 deniers tourneys. It remained coin of account until the 15th century.
