A première vue, on pourrait prendre cette monnaie pour un flan n’ayant pas été frappé. Mais les vestiges d’empreinte indiquent qu’il s’agit en fait d’un quart de statère usé et/ou frappé avec un coin complètement usé.

(2nd - 1st century BC)
The Leuques are mentioned only once in the Gallic Wars. Their neighbors were the Médiomatriques, the Lingons and the Séquanes. The Leuques as well as the Séquanes and the Lingones provided Caesar with wheat when the Roman army stopped at Vesontio (Besançon) to refuel before facing the Germans of Ariovistus (58 BC).
