Cette médaillette fut certainement frappée immédiatement après l’adoption par Louis-Philippe du titre de Roi des Français par oposition à Roi de France, choisi par Charles X. Le poinçon C et Ancre enlacés CU est rarissime et fut certainement fabriqué avec cette abréviation en CU faute de place sur la tranche de ce module minuscule.
This medallion was certainly struck immediately after Louis-Philippe adopted the title of King of the French in opposition to King of France, chosen by Charles X. The hallmark C and Anchor entwined CU is extremely rare and was certainly manufactured with this abbreviation in CU due to lack of space on the edge of this tiny module.

(1830)
We commemorate the Three Glorious Days of July 27, 28 and 29, 1830, which brought about the fall of Charles X and forced him to abdicate on July 31, 1830. Louis-Philippe was appointed Lieutenant General of the kingdom before becoming King of the French on August 9. The July Column on the Place de la Bastille commemorates the Three Glorious Days of July 1830.
