Au dix-huitième siècle, les réseaux routiers tels que nous les connaissons aujourd’hui se développent considérablement. On ordonne d’aligner les routes puis on crée le corps des Ponts et chaussées. De nombreux canaux sont construits comme en Bourgogne, des ponts sont lancés comme à Blois sur la Loire. Les plans des grandes routes du royaume sont levés et en 1747 Louis XV donne ses instructions aux Cassini pour dresser des cartes du royaume. Le pont de Neuilly-sur-Seine est construit de 1768 à 1772.
In the eighteenth century, the road networks as we know them today expanded considerably. Orders were given to align the roads and then the Corps of Bridges and Roads was created. Numerous canals were built, as in Burgundy, and bridges were launched, as in Blois on the Loire. Plans of the kingdom's major roads were drawn up, and in 1747 Louis XV gave his instructions to the Cassini to draw up maps of the kingdom. The bridge at Neuilly-sur-Seine was built between 1768 and 1772.

LOUIS XV THE BELOVED

Louis XV succeeded Louis XIV on September 1, 1715 and Philippe d'Orléans was sole regent. The quadruple alliance in 1717 aims to maintain the European balance with France, Austria, England and the United Provinces. During his visit to France, Tsar Peter I signed a bilateral treaty of understanding. In 1718, Abbé Dubois became Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. Sacred Archbishop of Cambrai in 1720, Prime Minister in 1722, he died on August 10, 1723. France declared war on Spain in 1719 to prevent Philip V from overthrowing the Regent. The capture of San Sebastian and Hondarribia marks the end of hostilities. In 1720, Philippe V joined the Quadruple Alliance and renounced the throne of France by the Treaty of Madrid. The first Masonic lodge was founded in France in 1721. Louis XV was crowned at the age of 12 on October 25, 1722. On February 15, 1723, he was declared of age. The regent is replaced by the Duke of Bourbon who becomes prime minister. Philippe d'Orléans died on December 2.
