Frappe médaille. C'est sur l'île des Faisans, sur la rivière de la Bidassoa à la frontière de la France et de l'Espagne, qu'eurent lieu les conférences de la paix des Pyrénées. A l'occasion de cette paix conclue le 7 novembre 1659, furent établies les conditions sur le mariage du roi et de Marie-Thérèse, infante d'Espagne. C’est cet exemplaire qui illustre le type dans le Guéant Prieur.

MARIE-THÉRÈSE D'AUTRICHE
Marie Thérèse (1638-1683) is the daughter of Philippe IV of Spain and Elisabeth of France, the daughter of Henri IV and Marie de Médicis. She was born in 1638, like her cousin the King, to whom she was engaged following the Treaty of the Pyrenees of November 7, 1659. She married him on June 9, 1660 in Saint-Jean-de-Luz and had six children , of which only one survived, Louis, the Grand Dauphin (1661-1711). She died on July 30, 1683. Louis XIV secretly remarried in second marriage with the Marquise de Maintenon in 1683 (1638-1719).
