Très rare jeton gravé dans Florange qui peut être daté entre 1553 et 1562. Fils de Richard Férey (décédé en 1522) et de Guillemine Dubois, Jean Férey est né en 1518. Il est, après son père, sieur de Durécu (Urville-Hague dans la Manche). Il est reçu en 1544 secrétaire du roi puis, en 1553, secrétaire de la Chambre du roi et contrôleur général de l'artillerie. Enfin, en 1562, il devient directeur et intendant des vivres de l'armée des finances puis, il est nommé ambassadeur aux Pays-Bas entre 1566 et 1568. Il se marie à Jeanne de Launay en 1542 qui lui donnera trois filles. Il est possessionné à Durécu (Manche) et dans l’Eure à Fontaine-la-Louvet (il construit un château en 1560), à Malou, à la Chapelle-Bayvel.

NORMANDY (GENTRY AND TOWNS OF...)
Normandy covers on the one hand the region of Rouen or upper Normandy around the Seine valley and on the other hand lower Normandy around Caen with the Cotentin and the Pays d'Auge.
