Ce type est frappé suite à la loi du 6 janvier 1896. La pièce est fabriquée entre 1896 et 1926 dans le cadre de l'Union Latine, puis jusqu'à 1935. Enfin des pièces furent encore frappées en 1947 et 1949 à titre boursier.
