Traditionnellement, ces deniers avec l’E croiseté au revers sont attribués à Paris, le BRO-INO associé au E donnerait Ebroino et serait des monnaies du maire du Palais, Ebroin. Ce prénom est toutefois assez commun. Il faut certainement rattacher cette monnaie au groupe à l’E croiseté de la région de Melle (Deux-Sèvres). Un rare denier avec le même revers est connu depuis le XIXe siècle (Belfort 3460), mais présente au droit un buste à droite avec la légende RODEMARVS.
