Poids léger. Imitation étonnante ! Importante double frappe au revers. Au droit, le portrait pose un problème chronologique. Le style est particulièrement bon, mais le portrait est de style II alors que ce type ne débute qu’au style III. Il est très proche du n°2891:2 publié dans le trésor de Cunetio.

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
