Ce denier est frappé sur un flan assez large et régulier présentant une patine grise de médaillier. Les reliefs sont nets sur les deux faces. Le droit a été frappé avec un coin présentant une cassure au niveau du O losangé placé sous la croisette initiale

Raoul is the son of Richard le Justicier, Duke of Burgundy. He married Emma, sister of Hugh the Great, daughter of Robert of France. On the death of Robert I of France at the Battle of Soissons in 923, his son-in-law Raoul was elected king while Charles III the Simple was arrested and dismissed. He must face the rise of the Normans whose king, Rollo, received Normandy at the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte in 911. Raoul must face the rise in power of Guillaume Longue Epée, Duke of Normandy, and Hugh, Count of Vermandois. He died in 936, without posterity.
