Ce type de denier aux entrelacs est assez rare, mais bien connu ; il est représenté dans divers trésors tels celui de Nice-Cimiez, Bais, Plassac ou Saint-Pierre-les-Etieux.
Tous les exemplaires connus ont une tête à droite et les deux seules variétés se distinguent selon que le droit est épigraphe ou non.
Le classement à l'Église de Poitiers nous semble assez subjectif mais semble communément accepté alors que l’article de P. Crinon tende à réattribuer cette série à Sens.
This type of interlacing denarius is quite rare, but well known; it is represented in various treasures such as those of Nice-Cimiez, Bais, Plassac or Saint-Pierre-les-Etieux. All known examples have a head to the right and the only two varieties are distinguished according to whether the obverse is epigraphic or not. The classification at the Church of Poitiers seems to us quite subjective but seems commonly accepted while the article by P. Crinon tends to reattribute this series to Sens

SENS (SENONES CIVITAS) - Yonne
(7th - 8th century)
At the end of the 4th century, Sens was the capital of the 4th Lyonnaise. This civil district serves as a framework for the Church for the foundation of the archdiocese of Sens. In 732, the Moors landed in the Camargue go up the entire Rhone Valley and loot the town of Sens.
