Jérusalem tomba entre les mains des Croisés le 15 juillet 1099. Goedefroy de Bouillon fut nommé avoué et protecteur du Saint-Sépulcre. A sa mort en 1100, son frère Baudoin lui succède et prend le titre de roi (1100-1108). Sous le règne de Baudoin III eut lieu la seconde Croisade sous la direction de Louis, roi de France, et Conrad III de Hohenstaufen.

Upon his death in 1100, his brother Baldwin succeeded him and took the title of king (1100-1108). During the reign of Baldwin III, the Second Crusade took place under the leadership of Louis, King of France, and Conrad III of Hohenstaufen.

Jerusalem fell into the hands of the Crusaders on July 15, 1099. Godefroy de Bouillon was appointed attorney and protector of the Holy Sepulchre. On his death in 1100, his brother Baudoin succeeded him and took the title of king (1100-1108). During the reign of Baudoin III took place the second Crusade under the direction of Louis, king of France, and Conrad III of Hohenstaufen. Jerusalem was recaptured by Saladin's troops after the Battle of Hattin (1187).
