Cet exemplaire fut remis à Monsieur Roger-Sandoz au cours de l’exposition d’hygiène de Tunis en 1911. D’après l’expert de la vente, la personne concernée serait Gustave Roger Sandoz (1867-1942) dont Yencesse a réalisé la médaille en 1908 (actuellement dans les collections du Musée d’Orsay).
This example was given to Mr. Roger-Sandoz during the hygiene exhibition in Tunis in 1911. According to the auction expert, the person concerned was Gustave Roger Sandoz (1867-1942), whose medal Yencesse created in 1908 (currently in the collections of the Musée d'Orsay).

TUNISIA - FRENCH PROTECTORATE
(1881-1956)
The French protectorate of Tunisia was established by the Treaty of Bardo of May 12, 1881. The political, economic and social structures of the country were transformed and the monetary system was modeled on that of France with the adoption of identical modules. The protectorate was finally abolished on March 20, 1956 after negotiations constituting the culmination of the Tunisian national movement..
