Roger Baron (Roger B. Baron), né à Paris en 1907, décédé à Lalizolle (Allier) en 1994, est un sculpteur (essentiellement animalier) et graveur en médailles et en monnaies français.
Auteur de plus de 500 monnaies et médailles, frappées pour la plupart par la Monnaie de Paris ou par la Maison Arthus-Bertrand mais aussi par la Franklin Mint de Philadelphie.
Il semble que cette médaille ait été réalisée à l’initiative de l’Association des Amis de Fernand Bouyonnet, crée le 5 juillet 1960 et inactive depuis.
