Ce bronze semble être de même coin de droit que le numéro précédent, mais avec la tête plus complète. Le I de la légende du droit semble avoir une barre oblique (à peine visible sur l’exemplaire MONNAIES XV, n° 1011). Le revers est en fait très proche de la coiffure du bronze MONNAIES XV, n° 1010. Le revers est épigraphe ; la légende n’est que partiellement visible, mais semble être inversée centrifuge.
This bronze appears to be of the same obverse die as the previous issue, but with a more complete head. The I in the obverse legend appears to have a slash (barely visible on the example in MONNAIES XV, No. 1011). The reverse is actually very close to the headdress of the bronze in MONNAIES XV, No. 1010. The reverse is epigraphic; the legend is only partially visible, but appears to be centrifugally inverted

VELIOCASSES (Area of Norman Vexin)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
The Véliocasses, people of Belgian Gaul, lived in the Norman Vexin located in the current department of Seine-Maritime. Their neighbors were the Lexovians and the Aulerci Éburovices, with the Seine as their border, and on the other side the Parisii, the Calètes and the Bellovaques. They participated in the Belgian coalition of 57 BC, led by the Bellovaques and provided a contingent of ten thousand men. But in 52 BC, for the relief army to release Vercingetorix besieged in Alesia, they only gave three thousand men. The following year, in 51 BC, they took part for the last time in the coalition of the Belgians in revolt under the leadership of the Bellovaques. Their main oppidum was Rouen (Rotomagus). Caesar (BG. II, 4; VII, 75; VIII, 7); Pliny (HN. IV). Ptolemy (G. II, 8). Kruta: 366.
