Le 1er octobre 1993, le Nouveau Zaïre est introduit sur la base de 3 millions d'anciens zaïres pour un nouveau zaïre. A la chute du président Mobutu, le Nouveau Zaïre est remplacé par le Franc Congolais.
On October 1, 1993, the New Zaire was introduced on the basis of 3 million old zaires for one new zaire. Upon the fall of President Mobutu, the New Zaire was replaced by the Congolese Franc.
