Magnifique exemplaire à la statuaire archaïque avec un magnifique portrait d’Apollon. Flan très large avec deux minuscules concrétions sur le grènetis. Le revers en creux est recouvert d’une magnifique patine à reflets dorés et bleutés

正面的说明书 Apollon nu, les cheveux longs tombant en longues tresses sur l’épaule, marchant à droite, tenant de la main droite relevée un rameau ; un petit personnage courant à droite, les jambes ailées, tournant la tête à gauche, tenant un rameau ; devant les jambes d’Apollon, un cerf à droite tournant la tête à gauche ; grènetis circulaire.

BRUTTIUM - CAULONIA
(6th century BC)
Caulonia is an Achaean colony founded at the end of the 7th century BC. Another tradition makes Caulonia a Crotonian colony. Caulon, son of the amazon Clete, would be the eponymous hero of the city. The city was finally destroyed by Dionysius of Syracuse in 388 BC. Its inhabitants were deported to Syracuse while its territory was annexed by the Locrians. The city of Caulonia was later rebuilt, but never regained its former fame.
