Statère sur un flan large et un peu irrégulier, avec un droit de frappe molle mais un revers très finement détaillé et malheureusement altéré par une importante cassure de coin. Patine sombre et hétérogène

Ce statère semble inédit ; il manque au classement de P. Abollivier et ne correspond pas du tout au style des cinq statères de cette série contenus dans le trésor de Guingamp.
Au droit de cet exemplaire, il est possible de se demander s’il n’y aurait pas un animal (sanglier ?) en cimier. Sous le cheval, le personnage couché est particulièrement net avec une belle petite esse.

Abollivier's classification and does not correspond at all to the style of the five staters of this series contained in the Guingamp treasure. GALLIA - ARMORICA - OSISMII (Area of Carhaix - Finistère)
(2nd - 1st centuries BC)
The Osismes were an Armorican people, settled in the current department of Finistère, at the northwestern end of Gaul and the Armorican coasts. They had as chief town Vorgium, today Carhaix. Their neighbors were the Veneti and the Coriosolites. Their name would mean "the furthest away" or "the people at the end of the world". They were subjugated by Caesar's army in 57 along with the other Armorican peoples. But from 56, they joined the coalition led by the Venetians. They will participate in the contingent of twenty-five thousand men provided in 52 BC to the army of the Gallic coalition by the Armorican peoples. Caesar (BG. II, 34, III, 9, VII, 75, 1).
