Bronze sur un flan large et presque quadrangulaire, avec une tête complète et bien centrée au droit. Le revers est lui aussi complet mais de frappe moins vigoureuse. Patine sombre et brillante

Cette monnaie est particulièrement intéressante, avec un cas bien net de surfrappe. La monnaie ayant été surfrappée est encore assez aisément reconnaissable ; c’est un bronze TAIIOC ou COIIAT dont on devine la composition de la chevelure devant le visage du nouveau type au droit, et la ligne d’exergue avec la légende et les pattes avant du lion sous le nouveau type au revers.
D’après les récentes recherches de S. Scheers, le bronze DT. 2453 est copié sur le denier CAMBOTRE des Bituriges !.
This coin is particularly interesting, with a clear case of over-strike. The coin having been over-struck is still quite easily recognizable; it is a bronze TAIIOC or COIIAT of which one can guess the composition of the hair in front of the face of the new type on the obverse, and the exergue line with the legend and the front paws of the lion under the new type on the reverse. According to the recent research of S. Scheers, the bronze DT. 2453 is copied from the CAMBOTRE denarius of the Bituriges!

GALLIA - AULERCI EBUROVICES (Area of Évreux)
(3rd - 1st century BC)
The Aulerci were subdivided into three tribes: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani and Aulerci Éburovices. The territory of Aulerques Éburovices corresponds to the current department of Eure. They are quoted several times in Caesar's Commentaries. According to the latter, they would have massacred their Senate favorable to the Romans in 56 BC and would have joined the Unelles and the revolted Lexoviens. In 52 BC, they provided a contingent of three thousand men to the relief army. : Caesar (BG.(II, 34; III, 17, 29; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 7). Kruta: 72.
