Cette drachme est très proche de celle du musée de Périgueux qui illustre le Savès, n° 197. Cette monnaie constitue à elle seule la variété 3 de la série VII. Cette drachme, à partir de son revers, est assimilée aux monnaies S. 196 et par extension S. 193.

The Pétrocores whose territory extended between the Dordogne and the Vézère on the current department of the Dordogne, (the former Périgord) had Périgueux for capital. They were part of Celtic Gaul and will then be attached to Aquitaine. They appear late as the Nitiobroges at the time of the final phase of the Gallic Wars.
