À Brunswick , les cinq Weichbilde (districts) d'origine existent encore aujourd'hui, à partir desquels la ville actuelle s'est développée par leur fusion. Les Weichbilde de Brunswick portent encore leurs anciens noms : Altewiek , Altstadt (vieille ville) , Hagen , Neustadt (nouvelle ville) et Sack (sack ). Chacune d'elles possédait sa propre mairie, son propre conseil, sa propre église paroissiale et une structure de population différente.(c.f.Wikipédia).

The Brunswick Weichbilde still bear their old names: Altewiek, Altstadt (Old Town), Hagen, Neustadt (New Town), and Sack (Sack).
