Avec ce type de buste, nous sommes probablement en présence d’une production du Poitou, très certainement de Melle, mais Poitiers ne doit pas être exclu. Au XIXe siècle, certaines monnaies avec ce buste ont été attribuées à Uzerches.

(late 7th - 8th centuries)
The Melle workshop, in the south-east of Deux-Sèvres, was important in the Carolingian period and seems to have been in operation from the Merovingian period. The silver-lead mines are still accessible and can be visited by a wide public.
