Cette obole uniface semble bien avoir été frappée à l'aide d'un seul coin sur un support solide, une enclume par exemple, comme l'indiquent M. Dhénin et P. Schiesser (cf. RN. 2007, pages 294-295).

POITOU - METALUS VICUS - MELLE (Deux-Sevres)
(late 7th - 8th centuries)
The Melle workshop, in the south-east of Deux-Sèvres, was important in the Carolingian period and seems to have been in operation from the Merovingian period. The silver-lead mines are still accessible and can be visited by a wide public.
