Ce jeton est de fabrication française et d’un style parfait, il a certainement été commandé par Paparel, Trésorier des Guerres, pour le service du nombre considérable d'employés militaires chargés de sa comptabilité.
Paparel avait beaucoup de commandes à Nuremberg à se faire pardonner car on trouve peu de jetons de fabrique française sous son service mais beaucoup de jetons allemands. L'entrée des jetons allemands était interdite en France à l'époque mais Paparel autorisa apparemment la fraude pour ces jetons que l'on considérait comme banals.
This token is of French manufacture and of perfect style, it was certainly ordered by Paparel, Treasurer of Wars, for the service of the considerable number of military employees in charge of his accounting. Paparel had many orders in Nuremberg to be forgiven because we find few tokens of French manufacture under his service but many German tokens. The entry of German tokens was prohibited in France at the time but Paparel apparently authorized the fraud for these tokens which were considered banal
