Les Hévin seraient originaires d’Irlande et descendent de Jean qui vint s’établir à Arras en 1537. On les trouve ensuite en Bretagne. La famille compte un célèbre jurisconsulte Pierre Hévin qui était conseiller au présidial. Il est le père de Jacques-Jean Hévin, maire de Rennes et décédé en 1758 auquel nous attribuons ces jetons (source : http://perso.wanadoo.fr/odile.halbert/Famille/Hevin.pdf). Ce jeton de 1762 serait une frappe posthume.

The family includes a famous legal adviser, Pierre Hévin, who was a councilor at the presidial court. This 1762 token is said to have been struck posthumously.
