Jeton lombard indéterminé, probablement français. La plus grande partie des jetons ou des méreaux à compte italiens concerne des émissions réalisées par les nombreuses compagnies marchandes pour la durée de leur association (entre 1 et 3 ans), chaque famille laissant sa marque ou son monogramme. Le nombre de méreaux à compte est considérable. Le décor de bordure se caractérise presque toujours par la présence de besants, censés représenter les anciennes pièces de compte (des besants byzantins démonétisés ayant préfiguré en Orient Latin, dans les comptoirs italiens, les premiers jetons, par commodité ou nécessité). La plupart des monogrammes restent encore à identifier par la confrontation des marques avec les régistres d’archives (pièces de comptage et de péage), ce à quoi s’appliquent avec peine Franca-Maria Vanni et de trop rares spécialistes.
Undetermined Lombard token, probably French. The majority of Italian tokens or account tokens concern issues made by the numerous merchant companies for the duration of their association (between 1 and 3 years), each family leaving its mark or monogram. The number of account tokens is considerable. The border decoration is almost always characterized by the presence of bezants, supposed to represent the old account pieces (demonetized Byzantine bezants having prefigured in the Latin East, in the Italian trading posts, the first tokens, for convenience or necessity). Most of the monograms still remain to be identified by comparing the marks with the archive registers (counting and toll pieces), something to which Franca-Maria Vanni and too few specialists apply themselves with difficulty
